Your first Reformer Pilates class in Paris: how to prepare
For your first Reformer Pilates class at Corpoz, choose a session suited to your experience and bring fitted sportswear, grip socks and water. Tell the teacher that you are new to the machine. You do not need to bring a mat or learn the exercises beforehand.
Which class should a beginner book?
Mindful Flow offers the gentlest pace in the Corpoz range, with movements guided step by step. Deep Control focuses more on precision and control, at a moderate intensity. Both formats currently welcome all levels according to their class descriptions.
If you would like more time to understand the settings, compare private sessions and group classes. If you have pain or a medical restriction, seek advice before booking rather than assuming that the gentlest class will automatically suit you.
Our guide to Corpoz class formats explains the different intensities. Then check the language, time and session description in the schedule.
What should you pack?
- Comfortable, fitted sportswear that lets you move without catching on the equipment.
- Grip socks, which are required at the studio; bring your own or buy a pair on site.
- A water bottle.
- Your booking details and, for Prenatal, the required medical certificate.
Class equipment is provided. The Corpoz FAQ also explains the studio facilities, including lockers and showers. If you are heading straight to work afterwards, allow time to change as well as the 50-minute class itself.
Your first visit, step by step
Check your journey and booking
Corpoz is at 17 rue Bréguet, 75011 Paris, near Bréguet-Sabin. Look at the studio page before setting off. Allow time to find the entrance and settle in; the instructions sent with your booking remain your reference.
Introduce yourself to the teacher
Simply say: “This is my first Reformer class.” Mention any restrictions relevant to the session. Ask the teacher to explain a setting again if you are unsure you have understood it.
Learn before increasing the intensity
Identify the carriage, springs and footbar with the teacher. Wait for instructions before changing a setting. During exercises, focus on understanding the movement rather than matching the range of the person beside you.
Which pass should you choose for a first visit?
Compare the offers on the pricing page. Check eligibility, validity and cancellation conditions, as well as the price per session. A larger pass only makes sense if the available class times actually fit your schedule.
A Last Minute place may suit a spontaneous plan, but a discount does not replace choosing the right level. To discover the Reformer, start with the format and language that suit you, then look at the available offer.
Frequently asked questions
Do I already need to be flexible or athletic?
You do not need to know how to use the machine before you arrive. Choose a beginner-friendly session and explain your experience. The teacher will guide you through the class.
Can I choose a class in English?
Classes are offered in French and English. Check the language of your chosen session in the schedule: having bilingual teachers does not mean that every class is delivered in both languages.
What if I do not understand an exercise?
Ask for an explanation or a simpler variation. A first class is also a chance to learn how to ask questions and follow the instructions.
